This is a very controversial topic...Packaging! How important is it? How wasteful is it? Is it worth it?
I would like to offer my new discoveries on this topic, if you had asked me a month ago I would of said no, it's not important, yes it's wasteful and definitely not worth it... Because I had never received great packaging!
Recently I ordered business cards through a new supplier and when the package came I was blown away before I even seen my business cards, they came in a stunning gift box.. with my logo on it!!! I was so excited and new right then that I would be going back to that same business and I still hadn't even seen what I had ordered, I was so impressed I had to do a video showing it off along with the gorgeous new cards.
That gift box is now something I will use for my own things, so definitely not a waste, it made me feel like a special customer, as she didn't have to put in that extra time to add on my logo but she did! Since then I have taken on the same approach as that is the feeling I want all my wonderful customers to experience...Getting a package and falling in love with it BEFORE even seeing the GIFTS purchased.
This way the packaging is not a waste, it's something that will be re-used so better for the environment and leaves an everlasting impression.
What packages come to mind when you think about great packaging? Have you experienced the excitement before even getting to see what it was you ordered? We all remember the bad packaging, now it's time to start receiving GREAT packaging!
